Keep Calm and Study On

I have lead and have been a part of several bible studies including online bible studies.  Each one impacts me differently.  I just love being in The Word daily.  I find when an online bible study, from Proverbs 31 Ministries, ends I feel kind of lost.  It is really hard for me to explain.  I guess I feel like I have lost a close connection that I had for 5 weeks or so.  I become so connected to the women in my small group and although some of us continue to keep in touch between online bible studies, it is still somewhat difficult.

Recently I have had an amazing opportunity to learn about the Bible through verse-by-verse teaching.  Wow!!! To be in God’s word during a church service with my Bible open reading through it verse-by-verse is something I have never experienced in all the years I have attended church as a small child to the present.  If you have never experienced this way of teaching I would recommend you try it.  Attend a church which teaches verse-by-verse and experience it yourself.  I would love to hear from you in regards to what you thought.

While attending this church I learned of a bible study through the Women Ministry.  It was on 1 John, 2 John and 3 John. These are books of the bible I am not very familiar with.  Well, I decided to give it a try as this study goes through these books verse-by-verse as well.  Wow!! To learn about more books of the bible through verse-by-verse teaching.  I am really liking this way of learning about the bible!  Can you tell I am pretty excited?  Through this study I am able to meet other women in the church and get to know them.  We meet once a week and have daily homework in God’s Word.  This helps me to stay in The Word daily.  Being in The Word daily gives me a sense of peace.  If I miss a day I just feel off.

OK, so I have shared with you how I remain in The Word in between online bible studies with Proverbs 31 Ministries.  As you can see, I am pretty busy between my daily Women’s bible study as well as the online bible studies.  I have to say with both of these studies what I really enjoy is the small groups.  You may say, how do you experience small groups online?  I will tell you.  The online small groups are through your Facebook account.  You will have a closed group in Facebook that will consist of those in your small group only.  You will only be able to see postings from your group members.  Because this is a secure, closed group, you will be able to grow close together in fellowship and share personal experiences with one another.  This is what I really enjoy.  We encourage each other and support one another.  During my Womens Bible Study we are able to share the same experiences in person.

If you haven’t experienced an online bible study, I would encourage you to check out Proverbs 31 Ministries.  We will be starting a new study next week, October 13th.  We will be studying “A Confident Heart” by Renee Swope.  Do you want to learn how to stop doubting yourself?  I know I do!  This is the study for you.  Come and join me!  Who knows, maybe we will be in the same small group together.

Many Blessings to All,

  1. Danielle, Thanks for this post! My blog was actually similar about feeling “lost” after the last OBS – but I really felt lost! But I am looking forward to the next study so I can gain some of my confidence back – I think I just hit a low point 😦 But on a different note… I attended a church that teaches verse by verse (Calvary Chapel Delaware County) for 10 years, and since we moved, more recently for 7 years a different church that also teaches verse by verse – and that’s the way to study – my Bible is all marked up! It took us 3 years to get through Matthew! So I agree with you – there is so much to learn – and I learn so much, even though I grew up in church! Thanks again for sharing! Blessings sister ❤ Dianna DiGiacoma

    • Dianna, that is so interesting that you said you attended Calvary Chapel Delaware County. I currently attend Calvary Chapel Chester Springs. I agree with you that there is so much to learn. I just love it! We are currently working our way through Mark. My Bible now has markings on it whereas before I was afraid to highlight or write in my Bible. It is kind of the way I grew up. Sorry to hear that you moved but glad to hear that you have found another church that teaches verse-by-verse. I am really looking forward to our next study as I feel all of us women are lacking confidence somewhere. Thanks again for reading my blog. I hope to blog more frequently :^)

  2. Girl you have been busy. Me too – I did the GAP but did not do it well but I learned alot keeping up with the other girls. I’ve never done verse-t0-verse. It sounds really interesting. Sort of like what we have done in some of the GAP studies. Enjoyed reading about it. Love you sister. Debbie W. (OBS Facebook Group Leader)
